The most common cause of a leaking shock immediately after a rebuild is seal damage during assembly. If you slide the seal head over the sharp threads of the shock shaft, you can slice the delicate rubber lip of the oil seal.
This Fox Seal Bullet (SKU: 20-02001) solves that problem. It screws onto the 3/8" threads of your 1/2" shock shaft, creating a seamless, tapered surface. This allows the seal head to slide smoothly onto the shaft, ensuring a leak-free assembly every time.
