The bearing cap, or seal head, is the primary structural interface at the top of the shock body. It is responsible for retaining the high-pressure nitrogen gas and damping oil within the shock assembly. A damaged, corroded, or incorrectly seated cap will inevitably lead to seal failure and loss of damping performance.
