Fox Shock Shaft Quad Ring - 1/2" Shaft

The Essential Shaft Seal
This Quad Ring (also known as a Q-Ring or X-Ring) is the primary dynamic seal found inside the seal head of many Fox shocks with a 1/2" diameter shaft.
Quad Ring vs. O-Ring
- Double Sealing: The "X" profile provides two sealing points against the shaft instead of one, reducing the chance of oil leaks.
- Less Friction: The design creates a lubrication reservoir between the sealing lips, reducing "stiction" and allowing the shock to move more freely.
- Twist Resistant: Unlike round O-rings, the square profile prevents the seal from rolling or twisting in the groove during rapid shaft movement.
Application
- Fitment: Fits Fox seal heads designed for 1/2" shafts (commonly found on Fox 1.5, 2.0, and Air Shocks).
- Rebuild Note: This seal is typically located inside the seal head assembly, sandwiched between the wiper and the bushing. Always use plenty of assembly grease (like Slick Honey) when installing to prevent damage.
